The Red Horse Coffee tradition stretches back 250 years to a family owned business called The Horse Head Inn, located in present day New Jersey. The horse head on the Inn sign was painted red. The Inn was burned by British soliders during the Revolutionary War. All that remained was the red horse head sign and a few spoons and forks bearing the coat of arms.
